En parlant de gens que je ne savais pas être encore en vie...

Quelle tristesse.

Did not die of the virus, au moins.

Faudra surveiller les nuages, il y en aura peut-être en forme d'Astérix ou de menhirs...

That's sad. The Astérix and Obélix books and later the movies have been a part of my life since high school.

My sister & I used to read the Astérix and Obélix books when we were at high school. We were both studying French and Latin so the school library also had the books in those languages.

Currently one of our television stations is airing the movies starring Edouard Baer and Gérard Depardieu. I recommended them to my sister because she and her husband came back from a trip to Europe a week or so ago and are self isolating due to the pandemic.

Rest in peace, M. Uderzo.

he was my hero.

We had the books in the school Library & as my first job in 1970 was with the Library supplier(!) I started buying them & had them all. A few years ago I downsized them, but I know they went to good homes.

There were animated movies which I never saw, but the live action movies started about 20 years ago. I have seen a few of them. Very clever and funny!

DAMMIT! I have been adding Astérix books in Irish to my library so I can help myself learn it. I should admit that I also have them in English, and I've read them in French.

Well, another good man gone. He'll get along with the 'Catters Over There.

I have a bunch in languages I don't speak toi.

Time to reread all the ones I have in French, though. I always find a pun I didn't get as a child.

I remember sitting in the dentist's waiting room about 30 years or more ago and I picked up an Astérix book from the magazine table. I was chuckling at the puns and some of their antics. A young man sitting across from me saw me and picked up another Astérix book and looked very bewildered. I don't think he knew why I thought it was funny. I think he thought I was a bit weird.

Nice obit here. First one to mention he was colorblind and didn't know it till he went from sketching to painting!
