Thank you Harald and all friends for the lyric of "Hills of Donegal". You don´t know how it means to me and our band for this song. Now, I´m looking for one song. I know there give many songs of Marys, but i´m looking for Mary, Mary. I find this song on the CD of The rusty razor "Goat´s don´t shave". Perhaps you and other friendly people can help me and our band. That will be very nice, Sorry, my english is not perfect, but I hope you unterstand.

Thank you.

Markus

Hello Markus,

Sorry I can't help you...but I'd like to hear the answer to your question also...so I'll be listening.

Are you sure you can't use:
Mary is a Grand Old Name
Mary in the Morning
Mary, Mary, Where Ya Goin' To
The Four Marys (My personal favorite)

Good luck,
Mary ;-)

Hello Mary in Kentucky,

Kentucky is this not the country of Bluegrass: Bill Monroe and so on.. Thank you for your nice answer, and like you I´ll wait for the answer. O.K. in our band we play also Bluegrass and Irish-Folk and sometimes we have many problems to get the lyrics of some good Bluegrass songs. Perhaps, you can help us, or ?

Many Greatings from Germany to Kentucky, where the grass is blue.

Markus

Hello Markus,

Yes, Kentucky is the "Bluegrass State" and the home of Bill Monroe and probably Blue Grass Music. If you need lyrics, you can't find a better place than the Digital Tradition Folksong Database. Also, you can search this Mudcat Cafe forum for discussions about the songs or bands you are interested in. I found this link to some Blue Grass songs recently in a discussion at this place. Blue Max Loves Blue Grass

I guess you know that the reason for bluegrass and racehorses here in Kentucky is the limestone rocks. They say that's also the reason for good Bourbon and the paint industry which developed around Louisville in central Kentucky. There is a saying that we are the "Land of fast horses and beautiful women." Locally we say the "Land of beautiful horses and fast women." ;-) If that doesn't translate into German very well, get some help on the translation.
