I can't find any tabs for the kind of stuff I want to play and thought maybe you guys could help. Both offer transcriptions and lessons. Stefan Grossman also offers free tabs at his site, but I haven't seen any for slide. He also has a discussion group called "The Woodshed" which you can access from his site. I think Happy Traum, the proprieter of Homespun tapes has transcribed most of the Robert Johnson works and some of the "roots" of Robert Johnson--Son House, Charlie Patton, etc. Strange enough, I think these transcriptions are offered by Stefan Grossman rather then Homespun--maybe both. I like his tab better than Grossman's. Grossman's is non-standard and doesn't give a hint about rhythm and timing unless you look at the parallel standard music notation. Most of the Grossman books I have print that on a different page than the tab so it's a real pain. Jon W. |
