MacColl Seeger Australian Album

Subject: Review: MacColl/Seeger Australian Album
From: Jim Carroll

Wonder if anybody can help with a request from a friend seeking information for an article
I'm looking or background information and, if possible, a copy of the sleeve notes of an Album Ewan and Peggy made while they were in Australia; 'No Thyme Like the Present'
I tried once before but drew a blank
Help would be appreciated
Thanks
Jim

This eBay auction has a photo of the album's backside with the notes.

But why did you mark your request as a review, Jim?

I just called a friend with lots of records, unfortunately her extensive record collection is not easily searched, so I'll ask around.

I've typed up the album details for No Tyme Lyke the Present from the above-mentioned eBay auction's photo.

Even though it's an Australian release it was recorded at Decca Studios in the UK in 1976. Besides Ewan and Peggy, Calum and Neill MacColl, Alan Prosser and Ian Telfer were involved.

I'm expanding captions on a blog & strangely enough, I had previously made some typos!

I have a copy in my collection. It cost me $6.99 - the price sticker is still on the cover. The price of vinyl LPs has gone through the roof these days

thread drift - I have a used (rare) Australian LP I paid $1 for in the 70s (I liked its pretty cover which is why I bought it & ended up loving the songs, too) which is apparently worth several hundred today. A pristine copy of the same album was worth $1500 in the late 90s, & a pristine copy sold for over $4000 a few years ago. (Hush by Extradition)
