Lyr Req: Yesterday could have sworn that it was W

From: Richard Bridge

The late Dave Bryant of this forum used to sing a parody of the Beatles' "Yesterday".

The bit I can remember went

"Yesterday, could have sworn that it was Wednesday,
But as today is Saturday,
Yesterday must have been Friday.
Where did Thursday go, I don't know I couldn't say
[then a line that is eluding me]
For today is Saturday"

Can anyone fill in the missing line and/or remember any more of it?

Dave himself posted the lyrics here on Mudcat on 21 Sept 02. I can't do those blue clicky thingies, but perhaps you could find it on here, or do a Google on 'Dave Bryant yesterday parody' (which is what I did) and the thread will come up.

That's funny - I found it - but the link made with the linkmaker gives me a 404.

If anyone wants to try again, here is the url -

Here it is, from Dave's 2002 posting:

Yesterday - seemed like it was Wed-nes-day,
But as today is Saturday,
It must have been Friday - Yesterday.

Suddenly - there's no entry in my di-ar-y,
For the Thursday or the Fri-i-day,
This Saturday came suddenly.

Where two days could go,
I don't know, I couldn't say,
I remember - bugger-all since yesterday
Which seemed like...

Wednesday - still there's nothing else to say,
At least I don't think so anyway,
Today was tomorrow - yesterday.

Surely that should be:
“And... now... I recall bugger all since yesterday...ay...ay.....ay..” to get the internal rhymes and the phrasing right?.
