This style of bandura has virtually vanished from Ukraine and is at risk of becoming extinct. This makes the instruments you see on stage priceless." And here's something: an ensemble based in the US calls itself the Ukrainian Bandurist Chorus. All the players are men, for what that is worth, and their style/genre is called "Kharkiv or Poltavka" . Their organizational center: Detroit. Andy Birko in Rochester Hills, Michigan, and Bill Vetzal in Ontario (Whitby?), Canada both build banduras. I suppose you already knew of Vasyl "Bill" Vetzal?
