18 Aug 20 - 08:43 PM (#4068778) Subject: RE: John Prine: I Remember Everything From: GUEST,Jerome Clark Last night I walked into the living room as the song was playing on the TV screen featuring the Democratic convention. I thought the singer sounded like John Prine, but I knew it couldn't be because I'd never heard the song before. This morning Washington Post columnist Jennifer Rubin mentioned Prine and song with a URL that took me to YouTube. What a magnificent composition. Prine went out on a grace note. The song's use as tribute to the 170,000 American victims of coronavirus (one of them, of course, Prine himself) was profoundly moving. |

I think maybe his wife posted a link to it somewhere. When I heard it at the convention, I watched it, thinking "Hell, yeah!" Thanks for remembering Prine, and some of the individual victims. |
