Lyr Req: A cider song (Comfort me with apples...)

Hi all! I heard this lovely song about apple cider at YTS back in January and it's tormented me ever since. The chorus goes:

Comfort me with apples
Shake them from the tree
Taste the sweet and sparkling juice
Cider for me!

Does anyone know the verses (and the tune to the verses)?

Hmmm. There's this from Zondervan Press, which is a moderately evangelical religious publisher:
    Let’s go apple picking,
    Shake them from the tree.
    Round and fat and juicy,
The big red one’s for me!

A longer excerpt from the book can be found here (click):

    Let's go apple picking,
    Shake them from the tree.
    Round and fat and juicy,
The big red one's for me!

    Pluck them from the branches,
    Lay them in a row,
Off to bake an apple pie,
    Homeward bound we go!

Is this the one you want? Written and sung here by Sylvia Watts. Cider for me.

Are we to assume that "cider" here has the American meaning of unfermented apple juice, rather than what it means in Britain?

No Richard - it's proper British cider! Sylvia is definitely from this side of the pond, used to run Bracknell folk club, (singing with John and Kay Quinn in Quality Street) and now lives in Cornwall.

And Steve T's link takes you to Sylvia being recorded in Terry Helyar's caravan at Bampton in Devon (at the After the Fair festival), as one of his "Songs from the Caravan" recordings. Which is a coincidence because I was singing in a Zoom session organised by Terry Helyar which has just ended!

Cider for Me, written by me, Sylvia Watts - although the chorus which you quote is lifted from The Song of Solomon. You are most welcome to have the words , and I can email a recording of it too if you wish. Thanks to Steve and Kitty.
