BS: in memoriam: Spirit aka 'Sam the Skull'

Mudcat's BS section has a thread or two for
cats who own Mudcat members or
who grace Mudcat members with their presence.

With the sad passing of an elderly white tomcat
ministered to, and loved by, Senoufou and her Monsieur Senoufou,
a true story full of surprises, drama, and begging-for-attention
has come to an end.

The cat threads in the BS section will live on without this cat,
and this thread will celebrate how vividly this old white cat
entertained us all during his too brief lifetime.

Take it away, Eliza/Senoufou ...

How sweet of you keberoxu to honour Spirit/Sam/MickeyPickey in this way!
I'm trying hard to remember all the funny and nice things he used to do, rather than grieve his passing.
Before he became so old and poorly, he was an absolute terror. Even the lady who came to our door to give us the sad news told me that Sam had badly bitten her husband's hand (they're just neighbours, not the owners!) and tried to get his paws on the two budgerigars in a cage in another elderly lady's house.
At first he was rather savage towards our remaining three Siamese, but gradually he and they accepted eachother, and when only SmokeyPokey remained, they'd sit close together on The Bench and smile at eachother.
When he hurtled through our bedroom window during the night a couple of years ago we nearly had heart attacks!
I'll never forget him, and I love that Glasgow song you reminded me of keberoxu, about the exploits of Sam the Skull!
He's probably now bitten all the angels and weed on their harps. But SmokeyPokey will be overjoyed to see him again up there in cat heaven.

Probably ate a spoiled bat. Wouldn't put it past him.

Condoléances, en tout cas.

Tout est possible Mrrzy. Je dirais qu'un tel plat lui aurait donné bcp d'indigestion!
Il va nous manquer ça c'est sur.

One of the things I recall in Eliza/Senoufou's updates,
is of course the fact that
when "Spirit" wandered into her life,
she still had her Siamese feline companions.

I vaguely recall a post which described the vocabulary with which
one of the Siamese, I don't remember which one,
commonly spoke with, and the thing that sticks in my memory is:

when the white cat had the nerve to enter the house,
and what the Siamese cats thought of as THEIR territory,
one of the cats would make the most peculiar noise in "Spirit" 's presence,
a noise that the cat never made under any other circumstances,
and Senoufou's description of that noise cracked me up at the time.

Having lived with two Siamese many years ago and heard them speak ...

?"I am Siamese, if you please. I am Siamese if you don't please." ?

I can imagine the effect on another cat.

Always sad to hear of someone having to say goodbye to an old friend....

"Lady and the Tramp," right?

Just looked up a post about 'spirit'
on an older cats-of-Mudcat thread.

It was
SmokeyPokey who had an extended cat vocalizing vocabulary,
and I found the post which states
that whenever Spirit/Sam was around Smokey
(before Smokey got poorly),
Smokey would make a really singular chattering sort of noise ...
