BS: Cobra Kai

Very good Netflix series following the exploits of the characters in the original "Karate Kid" and their offspring all these years later. Lots of the same actors. Very nice tribute to Pat Morita (Mr Miyagi if you didn't know) in the first series. The characters are now older than Mr Miyagi was in the first film! Relies on lots of nostalgia of course but there is much more too it than that.

4.5 Gnome stars :-)

Not sure about films with big spitting snakes though, Dave...

I haven't seen it, but I'm not sure I can get past the commercial here featuring actor who played the bad-guy sensei (Martin Kove) running a new dojo, Koala Kai - "more mercy!"

That's who that is! I remember him as a character in the Cagney and Lacey series that ran for about 10 years.

IMDB is your friend, Stilly :-) It is often open on my tablet or phone as I watch TV. Saves those irritating moments when you think "where have I seen that face before?" .

Dunno about the TV series, I still haven't got round
to watching the Jackie Chan "Karate Kid" remake Blu-ray
I bought cheap in a sale some years ago..

.. apparently, according to pedants,
that one should have been titled "The Kung Fu Kid"...???

The remake was good, too.
I don't understand the comment, unless it's because Morita was Japanese, and Chan, Chinese.
