Creating a request page for a request I don't want to get lost in another page.
Greg. My dad's family sang a song about the Shenandoah valley many years ago. Can't find the lyrics anywhere today. It began, Land of story, land of fame, there is music in thy name, and my heart would sing its message of good cheer. Sweetest land that ever gave, birthright to the fair and brave, Hear my song, oh Shenandoah ever dear.    (Chorus)
Shenandoah, Shenandoah, ever dear thy name to thee, Shenandoah, Shenandoah, life and love I give to thee.

Any help in locating this song would be truly appreciated.

Where was his dad's family at that time and about how long had they been there. Where were they--town, city, area. Were they church goers. The Shenandoah Valley is about 200 miles, so something to narrow things a bit may be of help. I sounds a bit like some school songs. Need s'more info. Having said that, someone will locate in ten.
