I can't find the thread now, so I'm putting a modern proverb here. I was reading a true-crime book, about a man who hired a loser to kill his wife. According to the author, the police have a proverb for crimes like this: "Look at the in-laws before you start searching for outlaws." Like most modern proverbs, it's pithy, it conveys wisdom, and it has a play on words. I like it. |
