Creating the accompanyment and melody simultaneously can't always be done but a few have mastered the tricky illusion.
The added harmonic surprises really help gnu.

I've been looking for somewhere to post this link a friend sent, it's certainly not blues or folk, it's classical music as you have never seen it. Close your eyes & it's so familiar, open them & wow!

I thought this was a trad song, but it was written in 1979 (The Devil Went Down To Georgia)
