I thought it might interest some 'catters. It is indeed a classic imo. Danko Fjeld Andersen The standout track for me is the lovely 'When morning comes to America'. It was remastered and reissued by Ryko in 2001 with a live recording of a their concert performance at the 1991 Molde International Jazz Festival. I also got their only other studio album, 'Ridin' the Blinds'. This includes a beaut rendition by Fjeld of Gerry Hallom's setting of Lawson's 'Outside Track' and a fine duet by Andersen and Norwegian singer, Kirsten Berg, of Richard Thompson's 'Dimming of the Day'. The self-titled album was awarded the 1992 Spellemans Pris which evidently is the Norwegian equivalent of the Grammy. --Stewie. |
