Song Challenge: Wally, the Walrus

Mind you, Mudcatters, this is not just any walrus,
according to Seal Rescue Ireland.
This is a walrus who has turned up in Ireland
before going to visit Iceland.

They say Wally is a youngster, as large as he is,
because his tusks are relatively short.

Here is an attempt at Wally's itinerary based on
news / media links during this year
(Wally got most of the attention during the past summer.
I just now heard of this fellow.
Mudcatters, have none of you noticed these carryings-on before I did?)

Sunday 14 March 2021 : Valencia Island, Kerry: video of Wally the walrus (before he got his name)

Monday 22 March 2021 : Wally travels 450 kilometers in six days' time (South Wales)

31 May 2021 : on the rocks, off the coast of France

2 July 2021 : BBC update, St. Mary's, Isles of Scilly: Wally appears distressed about that boat of sightseers sneaking up behind him on his pontoon

15 July 2021 : Wally is in a world of trouble (includes map of his European tour)

4 August 2021 : Wally checks into the five-star Cliff House Hotel in Ardmore, Co. Waterford

Wally, the Wal-uh-rus (to the tune of Rosie the Riveter)?

In the article in this link,
Wally the Walrus had commandeered a lifeboat station slip.
The only way to get Wally to budge
was to blow a horn at him.

Six home videos now exist -- all in an article linked in this post --
which show what Wally did to get so notorious in the news:
he kept climbing out of shallow water onto tethered boats,
some of which he sank with his 800Kg weight.

This link uses Google Translate and so
the English text is very odd in certain places

A song this isn't, but it isn't every day that
a walrus gets a feature profile story in
the Wall Street Journal.

And now the World Wildlife Foundation (WWF)
is recruiting
walrus detectives.

(You just cannot make this stuff up.)

I'm a perfect walrus in every way,
Except for my smaller tusks.
Brought up only on mothers milk,
Not baby foods or rusks.
I have several walrus aunties,
One of them called Molly.
That's a lovely name for a girl,
But why do they call me 'Wally'?
I've travelled over many miles,
I've seen a lot of places.
A lot of silly people too,
(Some with stupid faces).
They follow my wher'ere I go,
I think they're rather rude.
One of these days they'll kill me,
And all I'll be is food.

Well, no one knows the ultimate fate of Wally who made himself known
in Eire and the U.K.

However Freya, the female walrus who fascinated Oslo, Norway,
has been euthanized for her own protection --
the humans would not leave her in peace,
so the authorities had her put down.
Compassionate and sad at the same time.
