04 Feb 22 - 09:30 AM (#4135232) Subject: RE: BS: Winter Olympics 22 From: Donuel Its funny to see Putin sitting alone maskless and bored out of his skull. There is an olympic logo of a Chinese snowflake and true to form they are ALL alike. |

04 Feb 22 - 10:35 AM (#4135242) Subject: RE: BS: Winter Olympics 22 From: Steve Shaw I don't think China should be hosting these games and I won't be taking any interest. I understand that athletes have been "strongly advised" not to air matters of human rights abuses in public. Yeah, right. When in China, do what the Chinese are forced to do.... |

04 Feb 22 - 10:50 AM (#4135247) Subject: RE: BS: Winter Olympics 22 From: Stilly River Sage I pay for Sling TV and see they have a couple of dedicated Olympics channels (via NBC). Most of what I learn about the Olympics will be via the posts that comedian/actor Leslie Jones (https://www.instagram.com/lesdogggg/) posts on her Instagram account. Those are her funny shots of the TV with a running commentary. Good to know Putin was bored. It will probably be turned into memes, though perhaps not as entertaining as those of Bernie Sanders on his folding chair with hat and mittens at last year's inauguration. |

05 Feb 22 - 10:25 AM (#4135332) Subject: RE: BS: Winter Olympics 22 From: Charmion I've never been interested in sport on television, but this year's Olympic Games hits a nadir of boredom for me. The Canadian media focus (as usual) on hockey, with the occasional glance at the skiers and skaters. The political commentary has nothing new to add. Yawn. |

The flag may be upside down, or it could just be a poorly designed flag. The picture in The Scotsman appears to show a flag (bottom right corner at least) where there is no difference in the width of the white stripes. |

08 Feb 22 - 11:23 AM (#4135849) Subject: RE: BS: Winter Olympics 22 From: Donuel I saw the token Weeger child at the opening ceremony. I bet none of the athletes are respondsible for the unsavory attitudes of the games this time around. The international olympic commitee is a private business or con game depending on your pov. |

I don't agree. The bottom corner clearly shows white stripes of different thickness. Here is a better picture from the Daily Mail, 7 Feb 2022 in which there is no mistake that the flag is upside down. DC |

The manipulation and merciless exploitation of young people, especially girls, in skating and gymnastics, and more, is inhuman. It makes me sick. |
