"Abraham, Martin, and John" by dick Holler and done by several artists......First was dion and then a biggie by Smokey Robinson. Late 60's thereabouts.

thank you! my dad used to sing that to me when i was a little kid and i didn't really know anymore of the words, now i can look fgor it on cd...thanks!

One of the lovliest versions I've heard of this song can be found (believe it or not) on a Ike & Tina Turner concert video (sorry, don't recall the actual title) performed by Jackie "Moms" Mabley!
