So; Cleckheaton folk festival is on the weekend of 30th June to 2nd July 2000. There are many gigs around the town and sessions in some of the pubs with excellent artists lined up. Tickets are; £14.00 up to 1st April, £15.00 unptil June and £26.00 after that. There is camping. Check out the website. "Cleckheaton folk festival". see you there-some of you. Eric. |

16 Jan 00 - 01:51 PM (#163890) Subject: RE: Cleckheaton Folk festival From: honestfrankie I have to agree with Eric the Viking that the Cleekheaton Festival is definitely worth attending. I played at it two summers ago in a group called Tanglefoot at the end of a 6 week English tour and it was a nice way to cap the whole thing off. Wish I could go this year, alas... |

17 Jan 00 - 02:11 AM (#164165) Subject: RE: Cleckheaton Folk festival From: roopoo Of course, I think I have heard it referred to as part of the CleckHuddersFax Triangle... Anyway, if Cleckheaton doesn't exist, it must be a phantom shop called "The Music Room" that I was in just before Christmas! Little Dorritt, didn't there used to be several villages out your way that do no longer exist, due to coastal erosion? Or am I thinking more of the Suffolk coast? mouldy |
17 Jan 00 - 06:01 AM (#164197) Subject: RE: Cleckheaton Folk festival From: Liz the Squeak I know it exists, I've seen Ron Kavanagh in their town hall. And it keeps popping up on odd episodes of 'Last of the Summer Wine', which is filmed in that area... Some people still believe the world is flat, that the sun goes around us, and that 'Tie a yellow ribbon' was a really great song..... some people really need to get out more! LTS |

29 Jun 06 - 02:46 AM (#1771766) Subject: RE: Cleckheaton Folk festival From: GUEST I suspect Puzzled may have meant 'Trad' which has a different and more specific meaning than 'Folk' these days.
