A week ago I saw a special screening of Miles O'Reilly's feature length documentary 'Dark horse on the wind'.

The film was produced by Lorraine Kennedy and Colm Keating (who's always brilliant photographs were used extensively in the film).

The film is emotional, compelling and beautiful. Really a must see.

I can't recommend it high enough to anyone interested in its subject.

The film was screened in the presence of Liam's widow Nellie and one of their son's, Shane. Songs were sung (by Tim Dennehy, Macdara Yeates and others).

O'Reilly has put some material taken during the shooting on youtube:

So there you have it.

I met Liam Weldon and learned a lot from him. I have played the Taylors Hall. I would love to see the film, is it available?

It has been going around the film festivals and there have been online screenings. I don't know what the plans are but there was talk of a distributor. So keep an eye out for it, it's a gem.
