Musician Gleny Ray had her vehicle and her beloved violin stolen: Beloved 87yo Roth violin stolen from outside Alice Springs restaurant leaving musician devastated. She lived in my neighbourhood for a while, and I know she performs at venues around here sometimes in Newcastle, NSW. So, I'm just hoping that musicians and musical friends in the Northern Territory might keep watch for what might be her stolen violin. The second article says that she played an Irish jig for the man who found the vehicle and her violin. I remember someone lost their beloved and very individualised instrument here in Newcastle some decades ago because she placed it on top of the car while she was packing other stuff in the car and then drove off. The instrument fell onto the road. Our local community is very good, so the person who found it contacted the local paper and the musician and her instrument were reunited very quickly. |
