Norah Jones, we have to say something...

I don't see a single thread about Norah Jones, who was born in 1975 and the same ages as my second child. Her story is fascinating, and her music is terrific. Can you get a better pedigree than this?
Jones is the daughter of Indian sitarist and composer Ravi Shankar and concert producer Sue Jones, and is the half-sister of fellow musicians Anoushka Shankar and Shubhendra Shankar.
Here's a nice sample of her music:

I agree! Contract with Blue Note record label.

Ms. Jones is an alumna of one of the universities I attended in graduate school. University of North Texas. She's a local talent, growing up in Grapevine, Texas in Tarrant County - my county. :)

Love her stuff, everything I've heard.

And for country music enthusiasts, don't miss out on her recordings with The Little Willies.

Well, it has to be said, Roger Knowles,
that after her first two albums for Blue Note,
Norah Jones's albums have not gotten all that much attention.
The last thing I remember hearing from her
was a hit single called
"Happy Little Pill"
("I'm gonna getcha, I'm gonna getcha . . .")

She's a heckuva singer and writer but I love her piano playing as well, very soulful, reminiscent of both Ray Charles and Floyd Cramer.

Yes, the Floyd Cramer comparison is particularly apt,
comparing, say, "Come Away with Me" with "Last Date."
Not any copying or imitation, mind you,
just a similar spare, elegant style.

That's nice, Keb. I have to say I've always listened for her distinctive voice, I haven't been aware when she was at the keyboard.

And as long as we are saying something about Norah Jones,
consider that the album Come Away with Me
is twenty years old.
NPR considered it, by interviewing Jones herself.

Twenty years of Come Away with Me

This really is delightful music. Here's the Norah Jones YouTube channel:
