Many years ago, I went to the Library of Congress folk archive and found a fascinating song. Today I went looking for it again, and finally found this https://www.freesettlerorfelon.com/a_new_song_1788.htm... published in 1786.

Fascinating by itself.. but the page has links to the history of the "First Fleet"

which then has a link to maps of that voyage, and then to "William Bradley's Journal" of the details of each ship's voyage..including food, problems and lists of plants and animals encountered.

One could spend weeks reading and following the 'adventure(s)'...including discovering and punishing various seamen for incursions into the women's quarters. Ah, some things never change.

I thought I would stop with the song...but..............
