BS: Experience Running a Folk Music Store??

Hi everyone, I am a long term Mudcatter who has been away for a while (long story). I was wondering if I could ask for some help from anyone who has worked in or run a folk-type music store? I am writing a novel about a Buddhist priest (North American) who in his daily life runs a folk music store -- and who better to ask than here?????????
I would be thrilled for any help, and would lavish acknowledgements.
What I am most looking for (and given the vast changes in the music business) is details on what running such a store entails -- e.g. stocking, expertise, challenges, etc. I have spent endless amounts of time in various music stores, some in this genre, and am proposing as well populating it with characters I have known or run across....
If anyone has a good novel or existing description of such a beast, that would be great too.
    Thanks for anything!!

yours ever,

Peter T.

Oh, it's too bad Art Thieme isn't still alive. I believe he had a folk music store in Oregon. No doubt, he'd have some great stories. I wonder if his son might....
I think his name is C.T. Thieme. Is anyone in contact with him?

Chris is a Mudcatter. I'll share this thread to his FB page in case he hasn't checked in for a while.

If there is any humour involved - there are plenty of musician type jokes that could be hinted at/alluded to - rather than spelled out - as it were. As part of characters' dialogue, kinda thang.

I would shy away from examples, not being a musician. I am a drummer.
