ADD: My Name is Pancho, I Live On A Rancho (bawdy)

05 Aug 23 - 07:48 AM (#4178424)
Subject: Lyr Add: My Name is Pancho, I Live On A Rancho
From: Jack Horntip

While researching "My Name is Pancho Villa, I Got the Gonorrhea",
I discovered another song (ditty) about "Poncho" that has three or four
tune variants and is also a recitation.

The song starts off "My name is Pancho..." with variants to the name
of "Paco", "Chico", and "Yon Yonson". Texts, transcriptions, and
links to recordings provided below in the following posts.

Any help identifying the tunes is appreciated. If you have any
details on *your* version and when you learned the song-rhyme is
appreciated.

My name it is Pancho,
I live on the rancho
I make two dollars a day
I go to see Lucy
She give me some pussy
And take my two dollars away.

Aye, Aye, Aye-eye
Fuck in the bedroom.

My Name it is Pancho,
I live on the rancho
I make two dollars a day
I go to see Nellie
I bounce on her belly
She take my two dollars away.

Aye, Aye, Aye-eye
Sigma's always eat pizza.

"That's all I... That's a pretty frag... it went on the same for a
while...got tired"

Transcribed from singing of "C.A." recorded July 12, 2005. He learned
this in 1964 to 1968 while at university.

As for the tune, I should know the one above but it escapes me now.
The "eye, eye, eye-eye" is to "Cielito Lindo". But what about the
other part?

Any help identifying the tune is appreciated.

No tune. Just a recitation.

The most common name is "Pancho" although there are reports of "Sancho" instead.

We young boys used to sing a different version in Southern Illinois in the early '50s.

My name is Yon Yonson
I come from Wisconsin
I make a three dollar a day
I go and see Nellie and
Bounce on her belly and
**** my three dollar away.

There was a song the kids used to sing with a lot of verses
about some drunken Swede and a whore named Nellie:
My name is Yon Yonson.
I come from Wisconsin.
I earn a dollar a day.
I go to see Nellie,
And bounce on her belly.
She takes my dollar away. Oh...

I work on a rancho.
I make a dollar a day."

Stanley's sing voice surpised me, a clearer, younger tone than his
raspy talk.
So did his song.

She's got a doozy.
Suzy take my dollar away."

Julio Romeo, a back-up infielder was the worst of a bad bunch. He made
little more than I did, maybe $225/month and would spend it all on
girls and salve—the salve for after he came down with the clap,
and before Hector insisted he see the team doctor who shot him
through with miracle drugs and made him promise to be more careful
next time, only Julio never was.

Still on those long trips or long hours in the clubhouse, Julio
would sing:

My name it is Pancho
I live on the rancho
I make two dollars a day
I go and see Lucy
She give me some pussy
And take my two dollars away

My name it is Pancho

I throw my dollar away

Under the cherry tree
I ask what she give to me
It's big and black
It's got a big crack
And she asked to do it with me

So I took out my hairy banana
And stuck it in the hole
She let out a scream
And I felt whipped cream
And that's what I did today

I learned this from my older brother when I was 8, 9, or 10, I believe, in Northern Virginia, though I don't know where he learned it from

Another favorite story of mine happened maybe 5 or 6 years ago.
John was coming down a ladder from the hayloft of his barn
with his arms full of stuff. He figured he was on the last
step, so he turned to walk away. Well, he still had a couple
steps to go. He went sailing down and fell on the end of a
pipe sticking out of the ground. It hit him square in the chest.
When he got into the E.R. he was in good deal of pain. The nurse
began to take his information and figure out what had happened
to him. They first asked him his name. His answer was,
"My name is John Johnson,
I come from Wisconsin,
I make two dollars a day.
My girlfriend is Nellie,
she jumps on my belly
and takes my two dollars away.".
They called in the whole nursing staff and made him repeat it.
John loved people and loved to make them laugh, even while he
himself might have been suffering.
