I decided recently to relearn it only to find I have lost the words. I can remember most of it but cannot recall the final verse. It starts : Everybodys crowding down, heading for the underground Friday times crush is pushing home poker faced and zombie eyed, eyes upon the routing ride and a fight to gain a seat for them alone on the platform someone yawned, there was talk of trimming lawns everyone ignored the ringing bell but the stationmaster knew for a message had come through and he stopped to tap the dust of his lapel And it was chalked on a blackboard sign in letters plain as day body on the line sorry for delay |

However when I listened to the audio file which purported to have the song it played a different set. I've contacted the website to let them know about the error. In the meantime, the website is: https://www.all-things-considered.org/virtual-f-c-gtr-mcr -- lots of good music to hear there regardless. |
