Subject: Trouble uploading This Is Us cds to iTun

I’m having to downsize and am loading all my cds to my iTunes account in preparation for selling or donating all of my cds.

None of the Mudcat cds from the This Is Us collection will load. Any helpful thoughts?

I’m using an external optical drive on a MacBook Pro.   Have not had problems with at least 100 other cdsive uploaded so far.

I suspect that that these are not 'audio CDs' like commercial CDs, but CD-ROMs containing audio files.

I don't have or know anything about iTunes but there's probably a way of importing the songs (files) into it, but the procedure will be different from importing tracks from a 'proper' audio CD (CDDA).

You may need to rip them to your computer first and see about re-saving or converting them to a file that will upload. Nero ($) or HandBrake (free). Handbrake is meant for processing video, but it can do other stuff. Also VLC.

Those Mudcat CDs were produced in small batches on machines meant for duplicating the disks onto regular (but good quality) blank CDs, so they probably don't read quite the same as commercially produced audio CDs.
