Bluegrassers in 'The Trouble With Girls'

This is a really long shot, but in the 1969 Elvis Presley movie "The Trouble With Girls," a hillbilly bluegrass trio makes several appearances. Two of the performers were unfamiliar, but the tall strawberry blond man was so familiar it really bothered me. I thought I might have seen him playing with the Dillards, but I looked up members, of which there were many over the years, and played some performances on YouTube, and there were several guys who looked like him, so maybe I'm just imagining I saw him before. Many performers were credited in this movie but I can't find any mention of this trio. Thanks for any help.

Music and musicians are listed down at the bottom of this Wikipedia article, but I can't tell if it lists what you're looking for.

That lists musicians on the soundtrack. There were others in the movie.

I generally lean on IMDB for movie credits -- here's the page for The Trouble With Girls (click). Several "uncredited" musicians, including a set of "Bible singers" and a "One Man Band," but no bluegrassers. Do you have a picture of the scene, or a clip online?

The person you likely recognize is Leonard Rumery. In an article with The News-Gazette (Champaign, IL) he explains he was credited as First Farmhand.   Based on that, the other members of the band are probably William M. Paris (Second Farmhand) and Kathleen Rainey (Third Farmhand).

Here's a clip of the latter appearance (link). I also managed to find a fully copy of the movie online on the Internet Archive, and believe the group you're referring to first appears about 22 minutes in and more importantly about 1 hour 19 minutes in. As it turns out, he introduced them by their real names: Cathy, Leonard, and Bill.

Thanks, cnd. BTW the "One Man Band" was Danny Bonaduce, who I recognized despite the fact that half his face was hidden behind an enormous drum, but that's what comes from watching a person for many hours. I watched every episode of "The Partridge Family" plus his appearances on "Bewitched."

Thanks also for solving the mystery. That must be Leonard Rumery! As far as I can tell, he was never with the Dillards or anywhere else where I would have seen him. He just looked really familiar.

I saw that "The Trouble With Girls" was on Internet Archive but the picture quality was so bad I paid to watch it on Amazon Prime.
