This comes up on Spotify:

ambient water sounds I think

I'd have thought there ought to be something about old Walton under the sea?

Brian Eno's Backwater, perhaps?
Backwater.
We're sailing at the edges of time
Backwater.
We're drifting at the waterline
Oh, we're floating in the coastal waters
You and me and the porter's daughters
Ooh, what to do? Not a sausage to do
And the shorter of the porter's daughters
Dips her hands in the deadly waters
Ooh, what to do in a tiny canoe?

The song "Oh What a Beautiful Morning" mentions "a bright golden Naze on the meadow". There must be some link there!

There were 968 Traditional songs collected in Essex. None from Walton but no doubt there are some from surrounding towns. Eight were collected in Chelmsford, and 49 in Ipswich. 20 were collected in Clacton. This should give a fairly complete idea of what was sung in Walton. As for Folk Tales I'll bet there is a book of Essex stories somewhere. Take a look on line.
