Is anyone able to create an ABC notation for the melody of the song "CAPLIN TIME" as recorded on UTUBE. Thanks

We still need ABC notation, but this page has chords and various recordings.

CAPELIN TIME
(Songwriter??)

In Boston Town an old man died one day,
Dreaming of his home so far away.
He must have known his words were all in vain.
Oh take me home when it’s Caplin Time again.

Chorus:   I wanna go back when it’s Caplin time again.
                 I want to walk in the softly falling rain,
                And hear again the lonely sea gulls cry.
                Oh take me home once more before I die.

I must have heard these words a thousand times,
Not even caring what was on the old man’s mind,
As he told tales of his boyhood on the sand,
When twas Caplin Time back home in Newfoundland.

And he vowed each year that he would soon return,
But times were bad and money must be earned.
Now the years have gone like the softly falling rain;
He can’t go back when it’s Caplin Time again.

Chorus

And now I stand where he once stood before,
With silver Caplin splashing on the shore.
I pray to God he can somehow understand;
I took him home, back home to Newfoundland.

Chorus (Repeating last line at end)

Here's my first transcription of the tune. I was up early today and I'm starting to flag for checking (it's nearly 2am here!). I'll try and check it a bit more closely tomorrow. I took the first of the recordings that Joe linked, transposing from original Eb to C for ease of reading.

According to this facebook post by GloGary Ayles the song was written by Dorothy Barnable Agriesti. (Google's AI summary agrees with this, though without specifying sources.) Perhaps Joe could amend my abc to replace the current C: line with:

C: Dorothy Barnable Agriesti
S: From the singing of The Dunne Family of Newfoundland & Labrador

Thanks to all for your efforts and participation. ABC notation sounds very accurate. Here is my efforts to transpose to K:D in case anyone would like this Key.
