Subject: Harry Chapin several songs
From: Old Folkie

Hi,
Does anyone here know the chords to any of the following Harry Chapin Songs? If so, I would be very appreciative if they could post the chords. The list is quite long. The reason for that is it the more choices, the more likely it seems that at least someone will know the chords to one of the songs. Thanks.

Barefoot Boy
Caroline
Everybody’s Lonely
Get On with It
God Babe You Been Good for Me
Greyhound
Halfway to Heaven
I Finally Found It Sandy
I Miss America
If You Wanna Feel
Manhood
The Mayor of Candor Lied
Mismatch
My Old Lady
The Odd Job Man
On the Road to Kingdom Come
The Rock
Salt and Pepper
Short Stories
Song for Myself
Song Man
Stranger with the Melodies
They Call Her Easy
There Only Was One Choice
Up on the Shelf
What Made America Famous

Once again, thanks in advance.

Pogo,

I have started a separate thread for Everybody's Lonely.

Are you always so voracious in seeking knowledge?

Enjoy the music.

I know nothing about the accuracy and they are far from complete but here are the chords, sort of, to some of the Chapin songs requested.

CAROLINE

Capo:II

Intro: C
 C
Caroline comes from the rain

Glistening and shivering
Dm
She laughs as she shakes off the weather

Caroline whispers her words

Saying she'll always love me
Em
At least when we are together

Caroline starts closing in

Surrounding the spot
F
Where watching in wonder I stand
Em
Caroline’s shedding her rings

Her bracelets and stockings
Dm G
And placing her skin still moist in the palm of my hand

Here is a much more accurate version of everybody's lonely than the one previously posted:

EVERYBODY'S LONELY
Harry Chapin
 E AM7 E AM7
All I've got is time, nothing else is mine.
E AM7 B B7
All I want is you and one more tomorrow.
A F#m7 A F#m7
Nothing lasts to long, When I leave it's gone.
A F#m7 B B7 E
So I send my mind ahead and hope to follow.

A B
Yes, I know I have a lifetime coming,
G#m C#m
But I've got it all figured out,
F#m7 B F#m7 B
Everybody's lonely, everybody’s lonely,
F#m7 B A B B7
Everybody's lonely, that’s what it's all about.
I've had my share of heartaches, misfortune and mistakes.
Occasion'ly this life has left me battered.
But I can't blame no one else, 'cause what I've done to myself
Is the only kind of history that matters. CHO:

Now, maybe you'll come with me, and maybe you will stay,
And maybe you'll just watch awhile then wander.
It seems like all the good things in my life just drift away,
But maybe you will stay this time, I wonder. CHO:
