Is that the "Farewell to your bricks and mortar" Botany Bay? There are a few songs with the same title.

This is the version Kate Rusby sings, but as Brendy says, there are several others with the same title.

A                     D              A
Farewell to old England forever
       D             A                   E
Farewell to me sweetheart as well
       A                   D                A
Oh, keep me child safe in your arms-oh
  D                  E                   A
I need you like no words can tell

                 D              A
Too ra lie, ooh ra lie, add a tee
 D             A              E
Too ra lie, ooh ra lie, ay
 A             D              A
Too ra lie, ooh ra lie, add a tee
       D           E          A
 I'm sailing to Botany Bay

The captain, he is our commander
He sails by the stars and the sun
If 'er while I live I return again
To my darling's sweet kisses I'd run

For seven long years I'm transported
For seven long years and a day
Oh, I wish I were drowned on the ocean bed
For they've taken my true love away

If I had the wings of a turtle dove
I'd soar o'er me pinions and fly
Oh, I'd fly to the arms of me Polly love
And in her sweet bosom I'd lie

The other one, which begins "Farewell to your bricks and mortar, farewell to your (??) and lime!" can use the same chords with the addition of ..a let's see..F#m...but ye have to slide them around a bit to match the phrasing and all.

I learned a version, long ago, that has the same first line but otherwise most verses are different; The rest of the first verse is: "Farewell to ya numbskulls as well, & farewell to the well-known Old Bailey, where I always did look such a swell." It's got a great line abt bloomin' fat dukes & fat duchesses, etc. If anybody wants,I can get together the rest of the words.

Cheers, BK
