01 Feb 00 - 06:14 AM (#171585) Subject: Old Kentucky Bell re' a rebel & a horse From: katlaughing My daughter was here last night and really enjoyed listening in on those of us who went to hearme and sang old cowboy and other songs. She reminded me of a few, then told about this one. She is pretty sure it was a song, but it may have just been a poem. It is about a rebel soldier near the enemy lines in Kentucky, who is taken in and helped by a woman, who, when he gets better, sends him back home by giving him her beloved old horse, Bell, who faithfully carries him home. At least the gist that I remember from what she told me last night. Have any of you ever heard it? Thanks, katlaughing |
