mudcat people! found you guys...I am a very prodigous, inspired songwriter looking for people who play new folk on acoustic radio programs. I come from a strong folk tradition and have used that as a pallet for my own songs which might make them relevant to an audience such as yourselves. If you or anyone takes recordings for programs, could you PLEASE write me and I'll send some!! I am young (not too young) and excited-looking for listeners. "New Folk" is such a hard-to-define term. I wish you luck, but would suggest that you narrow the terms of the search - are you looking for new music in the folk style? Are you looking for new performers of traditional music?

It sounds as if you're looking for new material... but I'm not positive. If you are, then check on some of our earlier threads on Singer/Songwriters. If you can get past the intial vitriol (most good natured, some not), there should be some help there.
