Hello, i'm a new italian member I have a few questions for you all: first, why most of your songs haven't any chords? (I'd prefer to have the all score...).Are there any copyright problem? second, how can I add my scores in your database? third, some of us can help me to find words and music of Ry Cooder's song "The dark end of the street? thank you

Welcome to Mudcat, daks!

Your questions are good ones and have been discussed many times. Some of the more veteran members can help answer them better than I can.

I'm sorry, I did not find your Ry Cooder song but if you will search within Mudcat for Ry Cooder, you may find other things you like.

It may take a week or so until you can move around easily in Mudcat, but it is worth the time. There are thousands and thousands of songs, millions of ideas, and no shortage of good people and great jokes.

I hope you will come back often!

Hi hi,
Got 'em.
Here goes.
Dark End Of The Street
by Spencer Oldham and Dan Penn

At the dark end of the street that's where we'll always meet
Hiding in shadows where we don't belong
Living in darkness to hide our wrongs you and me
At the dark end of the street you and me
I know that time's gonna take it's toll
We'll have to pay for the love that we stole
Oh it's a sin and we both know that we're wrong
But our love keeps coming on strong you and me
At the dark end of the street you and me

They're gonna find us they're gonna find us
They're gonna find us someday
We'll steal away to the dark end of the street you and me

If you should take a walk downtown and find some time to look around
If you should see me and I walk on by
Oh darling please don't cry tonight we'll meet
At the dark end of the street you and me
You and me you and me

THE DARK END OF THE STREET was an R&B hit for James Carr in 1967. It was also featured in "The Commitments," one of my favorite films. It was written by Chips Moman and Dan Penn.

It was covered by Gregg Allman, Ken Boothe, Archie Campbell & Lorene Mann, Ry Cooder, Elvis Costello, Barbara Dickson, The Flying Burrito Brothers, Aretha Franklin, Peter Green, Roy Hamilton, Lee Hazlewood & Ann Margaret, Pat Kelly, Dan Penn & Spencer Oldham, Percy Sledge, Joe Tex, Richard & Linda Thompson, Porter Wagoner & Dolly Parton, Artie "Blues Boy" White, and many others.
