Where can I find a basic description of the diffrent types of blues? ie. Delta, country , chicago, country, west coast vrs. east coast... that sort of thang....?

Take some time to look at the Blues All Music Guide...it lists something like 14 or 15 different styles, gives a description and suggests artists that exemplify the style. This would be the most concise reference you can find and typically the guide that most use to define particular artist styles.
