Lyr Add: For Caroline

For Caroline

How does your heart remember to beat?
Look at your fingers, so tiny and neat
Red puffy eyes and soft baby skin
New little life all set to begin.

Sleep when you can, and cry when you need
Try to look round, and take a good feed
Awake in the night, we try not to complain
We just want to make you happy again

There are people to meet, there are things to be done
But just being with you is so much more fun.
And so I've nothing better to do
Than sit here and wonder at you.

Bradypus, who has a 2 day old daughter!

Ah, Parenthood, I remember when the twins were just babies one day old. A total of 16 pound of noise and appetite. All demanding on one end and zero responsibility on the other. Congranulations Bradypus

Happy birthday Caroline. Stick here in the birthday list bbc! (Or should we have a supplementary Mudcat babies and children list?)

Get some sleep while you can, Bradypus. And always remember, the first 30 years are the hardest...

Blessings, Brady- enjoy every minute- the time flies so fast. Each stage has its joys- as I keep telling myself thru gritted teeth as my darlin' daughter goes thru the ravages of puberty!!

Beautiful! And congratulations all the way! Have you a tune in mind for it, or shall we spread your word in the tried and true folk way: any fitting melody we know for which we also know the chords...?

You do realise that when Caroline has a baby she'll have to sing this, and so on and so on. You've started a tradition that stretches on and on, God willing.

Thanks for all your good wishes.

I haven't worked out how to do tunes in Mudcat yet - feel free to use any tune that fits. The one I've been playing with is fairly simple - if I can make a midi file, what should I do with it ?

My "baby" is 15 now, my first 21. Just because they get older, do I have to? Those were the days, my friend.....Congratulations; just remember: When they're little, they break your pocketbook--when they're big, they break your heart (but that's no reason not to have them!)

Congratulations Bradypus! I just got back from visiting my two day old nephew (and his parents as well just because they happened to be there). It was lovely to see how tiny and perfect a newborn is again. Enjoy your Caroline.

Bradypus,

We'll take care of the tunes - you take care of Caroline's mum, OK?

You're all reminding me of the beauty of love.
