Subject: I'VE SCREWED UP MY COMPUTER'S SOUND

I was trying to load Band in the Box on my computer. It wouldn't play some of the instruements and my friend said I needed to set up the MIDI. I went in and did something, I'm not certain what, and now my computer won't even talk to me when it completes a task. No sound whatsoever.

Anyone know how to remedy this? I was hoping to be able to have it up and running in time for the Hearme tomorrow (Feb. 27) evening.

Wyo, I don't use that program, only could suggest to go to Configuration / Control Panel / Multimedia and see if the MIDI Mapper is still there. There are so many options depending on your Windows Configuration, Sound card and related programs, that it is very difficult to say what happened. Perhaps someone in the Mudcat knows well that program, otherwise you would have to call a local guru.

I'm going to go into it and write down the messages it's giving me. But I'm thinking maybe what I need to do is just re-install Windows '98 and maybe whatever driver I whacked will get put back in place. Does that make sense to you?

Glad it worked out with the driver. Next time you might want to use a fairway wood or perhaps a 2 iron.

Glad you fixed it. My Graciela roars too, but only when sleeping.
Spaw, thanks for the idea. Next time one of my customers call me URGENTLY cause their PCs don't print, I'll carry one of those.
