11 Mar 00 - 04:40 AM (#193378) Subject: RE: BS: TGIF From: Liz the Squeak It would have been a lot better if I hadn't been stuck on a train in a tunnel for an hour, shunted back to the station, and told there were no more trains due to signal failures. I then got stuck in the Aldgate Underpass - an underpass system that has mis numbered exits, at least four more than are actually listed; it is more devious than a labyrinth, you really do need Ariadnes thread to find your way out again. And yes, I did follow the exit numbers, 5 FLAMING TIMES! The bus stop I wanted was but 100 yards away, across the road, but could I get there? Only after a further half an hour in the underpass. Then there were no busses, and the one I did get, I helped a lady off with her pushchair and by that time the bus had filled up and I couldn't get back on! All this eventually landed me home 3 HOURS late! From a journey that usually takes 1..... gggrrrr! LTS |
