BS: I really fancy kat/katlaughing

21 Mar 00 - 08:57 PM (#199007)
Subject: RE: BS: I really fancy kat/katlaughing
From: Bud Savoie

Kat, did you set this up just thirsting for praise?

I had deleted the messages from this thread because they were personal attacks. I was hoping nobody would post new messages and bring the thread back to life. I guess that didn't work.
People, if somebody starts a thread that's nasty, please don't take their bait. The best way to deal with flamers and trolls is not to respond. Thanks.

Hi Bud,
I am trying to figure out what you mean by this thread you created.
To me, it does not sound very kind, but I could be wrong.
Would you please explain your intensions. If they are mean spirited, do not bother, I will get it.

I didn't know it was possible to set up a thread without having an initial posting identifying you. (And, Little Neo, that is what appears to have happened here - I don't think Bud had anything to do with it, he was just the first curious person to jump in and post.)

Can't say I see anything controversial about the subject matter. Plain commonsense I'd call it.

No, there WAS an original post, a nasty one from TTCM, and one from me...they've all disappeared!

You're right, McGrath. I figured our dear old Kat was offering her hide for target practice, so I fired the first shot. No, Neo, I would never open a thread to attack someone, and I have no idea how you open it without writing some kind of initial post. Hence my remark.

Sorry Bud, I had no clue what was going on.
Can I bake you some chocolate chip cookies to make up for it? I make great cookies, maybe not as good as Caitrin, but they are pretty yummy fresh out of the oven.

Dear old kat doesn't know how to, either, she also hasn't a tough enough hide these days to do something so stupid. Please, phoaks, just let this one die.

OK, Kat, but we really do fancy you - I thought it sounded like a Bert witicism about to start ...

ME???

Tree would kill me if she thought I fancied kat.

I will admit that kat is a very dear friend though, and if I thought up a way to tease her I probably would, but I'm not guilty of this one.

Luv ya kat.

Bert.

I really don't understand why LC sets off TTCM (or whatever his initials are). One thing I do know is when a response is disporortionate to the stimulus, the messages tell you more about the responder than they do the object of his dislike.

Anyway, I think L'CAT's warmth and caring, are some of the most stable foundation stones of M'CAT.

Worth saying twice, anyway. Lady kAT is well mannered, kind hearted, interesting and compassionate, and deeply human and humorous as hell.

Most folks around here enjoy some of these positive qualities, but she's got all of them...and I can think of one or two who seem to share none of them!

I would like everyone to know that when I was a new born baby Mudcatter, kat took me under her wing. I asked her if she wouldn't mind being my Mudcat Mama because I had no clue how to get around the threads and she guided me until I felt confident to post. I remember the first time she nudged me out of the personal messages I was sending her and she said 'now you run along Little Neo and go post something'. So I did, and the rest is history.
But I will always feel grateful to katlaughing, and I will always think of her as my Mama.

Little Neo

OK, folks, now can we let this thread die, please?

Kat Laughing and All; I guess I missed a H==l of a to do but having said that maybe Joe is right and this should disappear quietly into the night. I will add though i have never started a thread, I have read and added to several. I have always found your remarks Kat to be intelligent kind and humorous. I look forward to meeting all of you sometime in a manner more substantial that ethereal whisps of cyber mail. I remail your Obdt svt, Irish Sergeant (Neil)

OK, folks, NOW can we let this thread die, please? If anybody else has anything else to say, please don't. We try really hard to avoid censorship around here, and still keep this a pleasant, friendly place. You people who insist on replying to flame threads just prolong and inflame the unpleasantness.

Joe, I thought about this one a bit and am still having some difficulties with it.
Here we have a thread that started out not so great, and then ended up being a lovely tribute to kat.
I am having a hard time understand why this thread should die.
I thought it was quite touching.
But maybe I am wrong.

Thank you, Joe, for deleting the flaming which I did not see, but have heard about. Thanks for wanting this to die, as I did when I first saw it.

Having said that, though, I do wish to thank everyone who has posted their support here. It means a lot to me, esp. as I've not been feeling well. I think it is another fine example of Mudcatters turning a negative into a positive, much as has been done recently with other flaming threads.

Now, since it is a bit embarrassing to have one's name in a thread, please let this one die. Thanks, kat

Well, and I think Joe has given us a great new band name, Flamers and Trolls. So, we have now made lemonade out of the lemons.

Can I be chick singer for Flamers and Trolls??

I give up. I tried my best, but you guys are incorrigible. I guess it doesn't matter. Probably, the guy who started this thread will be afraid to show his face around here after all this.
And I'll just be walking around, shaking my head for the next week.
You guys are really WEIRD....

BTW--- please listen up. We do have a member named Troll who is a DEAR, and not flamey at ALL. And he is on hiatus from Mudcat at the moment and... be tender when you think of him or use that term. I don't think he realized when he took that as his Cat name that it would have... so much attached to it. Just be thinking about him please till he can be back among us. (And he said to say hi.)

I think to be fair I should say....

You know, I fancy that Joe Offer, don't you? NO???

Well who then?

I've always liked Katlaughing, but have never considered her "fancy". I think that term is rather perjorative, at least in Wyoming. I do, however, consider her kind, helpful, hot-tempered, down-to-earth, funny, and I would be willing to bet she wears sandalwood cologne. She's just about my favorite person at the Mudcat, and probably the only other Doors fan on the premises.

NOW we can let this thread die.

LEJ (holding out for Cody as the only viable trade for Boulder)

Joe Offer, also a Doors fan, is still hoping this thread will die.
