22 Mar 00 - 02:05 PM (#199267) Subject: Ireland/Peter Yarrow From: GUEST,DanD It start's out:"They make bombs and da da da da in the shadow of the cross" and is essentially a dirge about the "troubles". I've tried to find it in the database from a number of directions but no luck. There may be other versions but the only one I know of is sung by Peter Yarrow. Can anybody help? Thanks. |

http://www.downeast.net/ppm/nalbum.html but I can't find anything similar to your request. Take a look at it. Bill

They build bombs and aim their pistols in the shadow of the cross,
We have cousins on the Ould Sod and we don't forget our kin.
Today we have tales of wit and magic and their songs are strong and free,
So we are left with retribution. It's the cycle of the damned. Only love and real forgiveness can heal fair Ireland. From peter, Paul and Mary's "Flowers & Stones" CD WB 9 45069-2.
