Lurking At The Bottom Of My Garden?

Can anyone 'lurking' out there, supply the words to this clever poem/song?

It has the title of 'There's Something, Lurking At The Bottom Of My Garden'. It is very funny and could now be applicable to many souls, here in cyber-space. The word lurking, now having a slightly different meaning.

I think it was Faeries...or it could have been jars of left over fertilizer...but I am sorry I don't have the words.

I once heard a song called "There are fairies at the bottom of my garden". Is this the one you mean, or are you thinking of a satirical parody of it ?

It may be a parody of it but I think not. It is a little satirical though.

Sounds like one that would be right up Old Stone Face's alley...LOL

Shambles, if no one knows the answer to this (I sure haven't got a clue!), you really oughta write one! Think of all the 'Catters you could twit if you used them as the "lurker"--Troll, 'Spaw, BlueJay, Okiemockingbird, yourself...! **BG**

This one is driving me nuts. I have a book somewhere, published in the late 1800's, early 1900's called "Silver Pennies." It's a book of fairy poems and stories for children. When you asked for the poem, it sounded like something that was in that book. Alas, the thing is in one of about 30 cardboard boxes in the basement...unless I found it and put it someplace safe, which means I won't see it for at least another 20 years, if ever...

Jeri:

You obviously need a MUCH bigger house!

Sorry about this I will have to come clean as I appear to be causing poor Jeri and others nnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnna (the cat just jumped on the keyboard)a lot of grief.

I do actually know the author and he is LURKING out there. I was trying to see if he would un-lurk and put this very funny poem on The Mudcat, as I am sure it would be much appreciated.

The only other line I remember is one about a polyglot.

Oh sure, I feel a lot better. Now I'm guessing who wrote it, (initials "EM"?) because I still think I've read it somewhere. And I'm wondering where his web page went...

Of course, it's a good bet I'm completely wrong.

I too know the author of the poem, and agree with Shambles that it's hysterical, especially when delivered in the author's own inimitable style. You know who you are - if you're reading this, please post the words!

I to, know the author, and I bet I know him a lot better than most. He's thinking about it. The question is do I start the ball rolling?

Jeri I hate to disappoint you, (or re-assure you) but at present the only written version is in his own hand-writing.

Vindelis, the only way I would be disappointed would be to not get to read the poem.
