I'm glad you changed the weekday because it means I can hear it on my day off. Hesse has always been one of my favourites, especially the Glass Bead Game, and Narziss and Goldmund. I got to see what a washtub bass is at last, too. Very similar to an Oz tea-chest bass - only the object used for the soundbox is changed but the way it's made and how it works looks exactly the same. Helen |

I should practice what I preach and not fix what works or upgrade computers when not essential but I had an offer on a K6 500 that I could not resist. In theory, all I needed to do was put my hard disk, graphics card etc. itno what was supposed to be configured correctly, install a couple of driver files and I would be up and - running - an hour maybe 2 hours work at the most. It didn't work out that way. The BIOS was wrongly configured for starters then I had to re-install Windows... Anyway, after several re-installs, God knows how many resets, solving interrupt conflicts on good old Windows plug and play? I have finaly reached a point where I can access the internet even though the PC is performing no better than my old P133. Jon |
