So many Folk songs have multiple titles and so many people come here with just a line or snibbit of the song that *Whatever* Dick did would confuse someone who doesnt give the search engine a try. Considerring that this is the easiest to use song data base on the net I dont think there is much room to complain. my 2 cents. Bo. |

23 Jun 97 - 06:12 PM (#7270) Subject: RE: Star of the county down From: dick greenhaus If you search for the words Star of the County Down, you'll get all the songs that contain those five words anywhere in the song, its notes, whatever. If you surround a phrase with square brackets; ie [Star of the County Down], you'll get only the songs with that complete phrase. The problem with that is that some songs have alternate spellings. I'd search for [County Down*], just in case some fool put an e at the end of it. |
