MP3 players

I am finally getting a new computer, with a pile of memory. What are the best MP3 players for PC's out there, and where can I get them? Free would be nice (spent all of my money on the computer).

Thanks
Paul.

G'day,
I use Winamp, it's free & does more than I need. As Clinton said there are plenty of free players available. Go to www.mp3.com & look in their software section. You'll find links to many players. If you're using the latest Windows you'll probably find that Windows Media Player will play mp3's.

Cheers,
Alan

windows media player will play mp3's but you cannot set it up to play a list one after another.
I have used several mp3 players and I have found winamp to be the most bug free, with winamp you can convert wav files to mp3 and vice versa also you can change a CD track to mp3 and send it as an e-mail attachment.

As said above, there are a lot of MP3 players out there. MusicMatch can record to and from a CD, has a Line in facility, converts WAV files into various MP3 formats, and vice versa.
And it's free.

On the other hand, in spite of all the negative publicity, Napster is a great wee utility that, although not 100% successful in retrieving everything, is about the easiest and most straightforward one out there (IMHO). It is, of course, free.

How about MP3 players for older (non-PowerPC) Macs? I am running a couple of Quadras and can't afford an upgrade for a while. What's good and free?

Jeffp Hi! Try this http://www.harmony-central.com/Software/Mac/sound_file_converters.html

Sorry Idon't know how to make it into a link. But I think 'SOUNDAMP' might work and it's free for mac. Let me know if it works. I've downloaded it but havn't had time to use it yet.
