We urgently need the lyrics for "Knickers of Corduroy" (as sung by Maighread Ni Dhomnaill) for a gig next week. Anybody got it?

her ya be!

I'm a decent married woman, my name is Mrs. McGee
I'm a native of this County Down, convenient to Donahadee
I had a faithful husband oh whom I liked so fine
But now he's gone and left me and I'm nearly out of me mind

He wears a pair of laceless shoes,
knickers of corduroy
A swallowtail coat and a waistcoat
He's only got one eye
His hair and whiskers both are black,
He wears a castor hat
And can anyone kindly tell me,
have they seen me darling Pat?

Well the morning that we parted,
the tears rolled in his eye
Saying Biddy me dear, I'm going away,
Me fortune for to try
They say the harvest is pretty good in Scotland this year
So Biddy me dear I'll send you the price of a pint,
Don't ye be feared

He wears a pair of laceless shoes,
knickers of corduroy
A swallowtail coat and a waistcoat
He's only got one eye
His hair and whiskers both are black,
He wears a castor hat
And can anyone kindly tell me,
have they seen me darling Pat?

Well, if I can find a postbox as soon as I arrive
Well you may expect a letter, as sure as I'm alive
But me Pat's away three months today
And he's left me in a stew
Since I lost me darling husband,
Oh what am I to do?

He wears a pair of laceless shoes, etc...

My own interpretation of the three months today reference is that he knocked her up before he left... Enjoy! This is a fun one to sing!
