HearMe Sing Apr 9th

Subject: HearMe Sing Apr 9th
From: Jeri

Jon suggested having a topic for the sing. Mbo suggested barnyard animals. I like it, and if everyone else does, or can live with it, I'd like to suggest we use Mbo's suggestion. (For the first song at least, after that, it's a free-for-all.) Of course, no one's going to call the Topic Police on you if you don't want to play along.

They live in the barnyard, have four legs or wings,
And these are a few of my favorite things...

Note: people have been pretty literal with previous topics. Be sneaky. Think songs about "old goats," cowards (chickens), "Ewe Only Hurt The One Ewe Love," ...etc.

"I Feel Sheepish Loving Ewe"
"I Ain't The One You Been Duckin'"
"What a Pecker"
.......just a couple of suggestions.........

now, now...you DO have your minds in the barnyard..*grin*...(actually, it's the chickens that are easiest...)

Nope, Bill D, shamed as I am to admit it, I took a bunch of farm practicum courses in college, and I gotta tell you, the pigs is easiest. Though if you hypnotize 'em, the chickens is pretty easy too....

ohmygad, did I REALLY just admit that?

.......uh.....ya' need to move off the farm Mario.......maybe a nice condo in the city where the "pigs" may charge a few bucks, but at least they're in the same species.

The Drummer and the Cook
Aiken Drum
Land of the Silver Birch
Linden Lea
Donkey Riding
As I was going along the road
The Mermaid
The Flowers in the Valley
Bonnie Dundee
Jamiaca Farewell

From the list of songs you all sang it looks like I left to early.

Mbo would have loved to heard "Star of The County Down" been learning to play that one and having some problems with it.

Like I said last night you all are so good. Very enjoyable. Gonna try to get my mic working.

Hyp - put "hearme" in the filter, and go back a few months.....

yup - we can hear each other sing - assuming that the people with the mic's don't have someone trying to sleep in the same room, the connections are working and the big toes doesn't slip off the f9 key. *grin*

not perfect, but a lot better then nothing.

oh - not mac compatible yet. but hopefully.

Jeri - from your messages above, I gather it started about 7:30 PM Sunday night, Mudcat time. Alison, BigDog, and I sang our final songs and closed the circle at 3 AM. I'd say that's a veritable marathon! And with participation from at least three continents, Europe, North America, and Australia. Any others?

I sang "Red is the Rose" before I got kicked off in the interest of doing school work. I wish I could have hung around longer...it looks like there was some great singing going on!
I don't think there were any more continents, Joe. Pretty impressive, though, isn't it?

Sorry I couldn't be there this time. I was in Maryland, at the Maryland Banjo Academy, for three days of Banjo Heaven!

Actually the MBA was over by Sunday night, but I stayed overnight at the center where it was held, so as to start the 10-hour drive home Monday morning.

While you folks were singing to each other, I was jamming and singing with another banjo player at one of the dorms, having a grand old time!

Had I been with you, I would I have done a little banjo song I wrote, called Hog on Ice. Do it for you some other time.
