07 Apr 00 - 03:33 PM (#208501) Subject: Another Stupid Question From: BlueJay Can you tolerate another dumb question from a computer illiterate? Sometimes when I post, it shows my name, and the next line says: "Shop". When I click on that, it takes me to a merchandise description that I "have selected, click to order". I have never selected, (to my knowledge), or desired to order anything I have seen so far. I've tried the searches, with no answer. I don't understand this, though the answer is probably in front of my face. I thought it would be easier to just ask you folks. I really don't want to bother Max with it. Thanks, BlueJay |

07 Apr 00 - 03:39 PM (#208507) Subject: RE: BS: Another Stupid Question From: GUEST,Jim Dixon Apparently there is a computer program somewhere that searches through the text you post and tries to find a match with one or more of the items in the Mudcat shop. When it finds one, it displays it as you describe. It's just another marketing gimmick. |

07 Apr 00 - 03:41 PM (#208508) Subject: RE: BS: Another Stupid Question From: Homeless when the text of your message contains the name of a song on a CD listed in the database, a link is created to that CD. This way if you list the names of songs to play, want samples of, etc., there will be a link to a CD containing that song. You don't have to shop or buy, but it is sometimes interesting to see who has recorded a song you mention. |
