Tech: Finding old threads with no memory

Subject: Finding old threads with no memory
From: GUEST,Mrrzy-at-work

Hi, is there a quick way to search for threads to which I've posted? I tried putting "mrrzy" in the Search field but that doesn't work. And I apparently can't remember the threads to which I've contributed- I tend to recognize them if I see them, but if they've dropped off the bottom of the list, I then cannot recall their names. Do I have to start writing down where I post, or is there a system of which I am unaware? My poor brain will thank you.

Dear Mrrzy,

Go to the Quick Links on the main thread page, then use the pull down menu and click on Forum Search, then Go. When you get there, type yout name in as the User Name and hit Go. Every posting you've made will come up.

If this is as clear as mud let me know, and I'll try another way.**BG**

Thanks! Worked a treat. I knew y'all woulnd't have made me actually write things down or --worse-- remember them. Note that I first tried with "mrrzy*" to pick up both those posted at work and from home, where I have the cookie, and that found nothing, but just plain mrrzy picked up both anyway. I only note this in case other newbies were wondering this same thing.

Another way to keep track of threads you want to remember is to trace them on your personal page... unfortunately, you do need to be logged in as a member to do it. If your work has a dislike for cookies on the computers, you can always log in and then delete the cookie later...

Also, if you can't remember the exact spelling of someone whose postings you want to look up, just enter the first couple of letters and you will get all names which start out that way. Helps to jog the ole' memory.

Mrzzy - In the message you posted, you can see that your name is highlighted in the "from" line. That means your name is a clickable link. Click on it (or click here), and you'll see all the messages you've posted as "Mrrzy-at-work." If you use the dropdown menus at the top of this page (or click here) you can access our Forum search. If you put just "mrrzy" in the User Name box, you'll get everything you've posted, both as "mrrzy" and as "mrrzy-at-work."
Hope that helps. Holler if you need more help.
Now, if I do this link right, you should be able to [click here] and access everything you've posted as "mrrzy," but not at work.
