OK I've got part - has anybody else got the rest or the name of the song and the artist who recorded it??

Work like you don't need the money, Love like you've never been hurt, Dance like there's nobody watching.....

I know I've heard this - just can't remember any more of it. Post her or to my e-mail (ksundstar@hotmail.com)

thanks, karin

It's gotta come from the heart if you want it to work. Or something like that.

I think Kathy Mattea recorded it. I'll check tonight to see if I have it. Of course, the way this place works, somebody else will supply the whole song before I get back on.

COME FROM THE HEART
(Susannah Clark / Richard Leigh)

Chorus:
You've got to sing like you don't need the money
And love sometimes like you'll never get hurt
You've got to dance as if there's nobody watching
It's got to come from the heart if you want it to work

When I was a lad my daddy told me
Of a lesson he learnt, 'twas a long time ago
He said, If you want to have someone to hold on to
Then you're gonna have to learn to let go

There's just one thing I keep forgetting
When everything is falling apart
In love as in life you have to remember
There's such a thing as trying too hard

Repeat 1

There must have been a thread with some discussion about this song around June 1999. Can't find it now, though. - Susanne

What did I tell you? Thanks, Susanne! You saved me some typing. All I can add is that Kathy Mattea recorded it on her "Willow in the Wind" CD (Mercury 836 950-2). She adjusted the lyrics for a woman's perspective and has a lovely alto voice.
