I WILL LOVE YOU
(Tom Paxton)

Every time I hear a sweet bird singing,
I think of you and I, my love, I think of you and I.
And when I hear the evening bells a-ringing,
I hang my head and cry, my love, hang my head and cry.

CHORUS: I will love you. I will love you when we are gone.
I will love you. I will love you when we are gone.

Every time I hear your soft voice humming,
My heart jumps in my breast, my love. My heart jumps in my breast.
And until I hear your footsteps coming,
My heart can know no rest, my love. My heart can know no rest

CHORUS TWICE

Isn't this done by the Fureys?

Also, look at And Loving You that I posted a while back - it sets the record for most chords in a song, I would guess.

Home to Me is a very good song too.

I sang this as a duet a couple of times with a bloke called Hector Gilchrist who has a lovely high tenor voice for harmonies, people talked you know ;~)

I've been searching for the sheet music for this for some time now, but am having no luck finding it. Doea anyone know where it might be available, either in a book or for online download? Thanks in advance.

I needed sheet music for this for a wedding and couldn't find it anywhere (was driving me nuts) so I transcribed it. It's in D, just the main tune but will go over the chords that are available online. If anyone wants it just email me at hollymcconnell@gmail.com .

Great song - but is the tune original? We have known a hymn to this tune called "o Israel" for many years. Its possible someone pinched the tune of Tom Paxton. I just wonder
